Multi Line Text box not appering in preview.

    Hi All,

I am back using InfoPath again !  I am creating my first browser form against SharePoint 2010.

I have taken a SharePoint List form and I am trying to make it more useable.

My normal mode for working with InfoPath is to put each field in a section.  In my form I have put a multi-line textbox into a section.  I have not put any conditional formatting on the section - or the field.

When I open the form in preview the section does not display.  It is included in the form as default.

I haven't used InfoPath for 5 months(ish) so I know I am rusty.  Can you point me in the right direction ?

    Catharine! Hello!

I guess I'd verify that the text box displays outside of the section first, so you can see if the issue is with the section or the textbox? What's the section bound to?

    Hi Hilary,

Great to be in contact again...

I have checked and the box will display outside the section.  The section is bound to my:SharepointListItem_RW.

It is the third section in the form bound to that section.  1 is the outside boundary of the form.  The second is nested within that in row 1 of the table and it works fine.  I am trying to put the third one into the second row of the table, nested inside the first (i.e. to the same level as the second) and it does not display.  Is this a limitation within Browser forms ?

I don't know that I'd call it a limitation, since that implies something known - I do know I've had some issues as of late with hyperlinks displayed inside repeating sections where there are multiple sections on the form bound to the same group - so it may be you are hitting a browser rendering bug of some kind. Can you bind you section to the same field as your text box? Is there a specific reason you are putting the box in a section (i.e. - want to be able to hide it with some label text at some point, etc)? If not, perhaps just use some layout tables to organize things and don't use the section.
