how to solve SQL database access issue

I have an access to SQL database and I populate dropdowns in Infopath using SQL database as an external datasource.

when I publish that abc.xsn file to a network location( which is Sharepoint document library) the end users are unable to see the drop downs because they do not have acess to SQL database.

End users are not supposed to facilitate with SQL access at all. They have access to share point site only.

Is there any way to solve this issue?

    Please help

You could use a web service to query the data. The web service would be running using an app pool, and the app pool identity would have permission to the SQL database (but the individual users would not).

You could also move the data to a SharePoint list and have the form query the data from there.

    Good luck!

I cannot create external list because of permission and there are like 100K records on that table. So, I think I have no choice other than web service.

Is it possible to send link related to web service that solve my problem or any hint to start from.

I would really appreciate your help

You could write your own custom web service. A quick Google search should reveal some links on that.

You could also purchase a third party web service such as DBXL. More info on that here:
