    Rule limits

Can anyone comfirm the maximum number of actions per user interaction on am IP 2010 form. I have found one small post that put this number at 16 actions. If this is true can it be changed in any way?

    Kind regards,
    Larry

I don't know of any strict limit.  16 is the maximum number of times that a field can cause its own value to change, either directly or indirectly, and that can't be changed.  But generally you shouldn't use recursive logic in your form anyway.

     Hi, Jimmy,

I am rather curious. Is it empirical number because there are a lot of posts about it but neither that I could find from Microsoft "docs"

I don't know offhand of any documentation mentioning it, but in this blog from the InfoPath team, the blog author acknowledges this limit (in the comments):

You can also verify this for yourself, by creating a rule like this on a field:

    Set (self) to expression . + 1

Then preview the form and place a 0 in this field and tab out.  The rule will error out and the value in the field will be 15, meaning the rule executed 15 times before the error.
