Infopath Form to upload Multiple Documents

This is not your standard multiple doc upload question. I am in the process of converting an old MS Access equipment DB to a SharePoint library. Each equipment record has a history page to record repair/calibration history. This is a repeating table. Each row in the table has a field to contain a link to an associated document contained in a separate document library. The documents and equipment records are associated by the equipment serial number. I have been asked to provide the ability to upload multiple documents into the library and have them be associated with the correct equipment record. I know how this could be accomplished if we were just talking about 1 row and 1 field. I can create an infopath upload form with a repeating table that contains a button in each row to upload the doc to the library and then have a workflow that will fill in a doc link on the item in the equipment record library by matching the serial number of the piece of equipment for the first history row. My question is this: Is this possible to accomplish when you have a repeating table that is receiving the information and how would you go about making sure that the link was entered into the last row on the equipment record?

Another possibility would be to create a section just to hold the doc links. Same scenario as above with a form to upload the docs and a workflow to fill in the link address on the equipment record, but what type of field or section would I need to capture multiple doc links?
