Setting the field from another field from Sharepoint list

     Hi

Thanks in advance for any help.  I have got myself in a muddle with this solution

I have a Sharepoint list for a group of stores. There are two columns Store number Store Name I want to use in infopath

    Store Name

    For instance

    Store number   store name

    1                     london

    2                     new york

    3                     paris

    4                     Rome

I need to have the two drop downs and on selecting Store number it then populates the store name that is linked with their store number

A similar post from Laura on Sharepoint 911  http://www.sharepoint911.com/blogs/laura/Lists/Posts/Post.aspx?ID=129  describes pulling data, but this is two lists.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

This is fairly straighforward; it's just a matter of getting the right rule with the right filter.

I'm attaching a sample form. Please save it, open it in Design mode and then take a look at the rule on the dropdown. Hopefully this helps you!

Thanks for your response and the sample form which I understand.

Editing the embedded datasource file I add my own xml data which worked fine.

As my forms are browser my ideas to add my own store number and names to the xml would not work.

Instead of using the xml I tried with a sharepoint list with 2 columns.

On selecting a store number it will always

pick the first store name in the sharepoint list and when selecting another store number it will still remain on that first store name.

Any ideas, a rework of the formula I guess
