    Hi, Chris:

Can you preview the attached template and try the same steps you have been trying (select the first item in the dropdown, then change to a different item) and scroll to the bottom of the form, where I've placed a repeating table bound to the 2ds, and see if any values are returned in the fields that you are using to set the main data source fields?

Sorry Hillary but no values are returned to any of the fields  when using the dropdown fields.   I went through each and every item in the dropdown list and nothing..........  the repeating table is populated initially with all the items but once I go and use the dropdowns, it's like it turns it all off.

Perfect. So that helps with troubleshooting - we know that the rule is not returning values in the 2DS - that is why they aren't getting set. I've made another change. Try again, first with the one that works, then with a selection that doesn't. You don't have to try them all, just need one success and one failure. There are two new fields under the drop down - Temp Command and Temp Error. Let me know the values after a success and a failure.

    First Choice in dropdown:

    Temp command: FilterOwssvr /dsname=ExternalOwssvr /filter=External_x0020_Facility /value=Estação Experimental da SGS-Gravena Ltda (Jaboticabal) |

    Temp Error: |

    Second Choice in dropdown

     Temp command: FilterOwssvr /dsname=ExternalOwssvr /filter=External_x0020_Facility /value=Estação Experimental da SGS-Gravena Ltda (Jaboticabal) | FilterOwssvr /dsname=ExternalOwssvr /filter=External_x0020_Facility /value=Syntech Research do Brasil Ltda |

     Temp Error:  |  |

dont know if it was your plan to not have the regular fields(based on the dropdown) populate but they are not......even with the first item i chose in the list.................... the temp fields did though, each time (see above).  cant say they are not working.... i don tknow....

I didn't change your other rules, just wanted the command to execute successfully - from what you are saying, you didn't get results returned either time you executed the rule. You'd sent Ernesto an XLS with data from your list. I don't see either of the values in your list that you sent. Can you verify those external facilties are in use in the list you are querying with your owssvr.dll data connection?

I'm simply trying to understand whether the options you are selecting from your drop down are present in the list you have the owssvr.dll connection to. Does the External Facility Name data connection get it's values from the same list as your owssvr.dll connection? Here's another version for you to try - it has a temp result field - let me know what the values in that field are.

sorry, i was confused initially.....   the dropdown was pointing at the wrong list in the Test Form. I reset it..... so we are back to square one....  I have a sharepoint list called ADMIN that the external facility field is coming from.   the applicable info,. according to the dropdown choice is also in the same list..................   it works correctly for the FIRST ITEM..... ignore that second .xls i sent yesterday.  I also have some TEST forms and somehow I got them crossed.............the xls i sent to Ernesto is the CORRECT .xls.  see below

here is the test form run results:

    FIRST ITEM in list:

External Facility dropdown field: A&L Great Lakes laboratories Inc. Fort Wayne IN

Temp Command: FilterOwssvr /dsname=ExternalOwssvr /filter=External_x0020_Facility /value=A & L Great Lakes Laboratories Inc. Fort Wayne IN |

    Temp Error:  |

    Temp Result:  | http://wssdas.intranet.dow.com/rsga/qau/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?Cmd=Display&List={BD6CBBCF-579C-4813-A85D-E2A06501088D}&View={D27414D6-612D-4B86-AE0B-0EEA4F9E707E}&XMLDATA=TRUE&NOREDIRECT=TRUE&FilterField1=External_x0020_Facility&FilterValue1=A+%26+L+Great+Lakes+Laboratories+Inc.+Fort+Wayne+IN

Address: A&L Great Lakes Laboraties Inc. Fort Wayne IN

    City: Fort Wayne

    State IN

I then chose the FIFTH ITEM in the list...... results below

    FIFTH ITEM in list

External Facility dropdown field: ABC Ag Services Sheridan, IN

Temp Command: FilterOwssvr /dsname=ExternalOwssvr /filter=External_x0020_Facility /value=ABG Ag Services Sheridan, IN | FilterOwssvr /dsname=ExternalOwssvr /filter=External_x0020_Facility /value=A & L Great Lakes Laboratories Inc. Fort Wayne IN |

Temp Error:  |  | Parameter count mismatch for filter and value.
Please verify each parameter has the same number of comma-separated values.

    Temp Result: | http://wssdas.intranet.dow.com/rsga/qau/_vti_bin/owssvr.dll?Cmd=Display&List={BD6CBBCF-579C-4813-A85D-E2A06501088D}&View={D27414D6-612D-4B86-AE0B-0EEA4F9E707E}&XMLDATA=TRUE&NOREDIRECT=TRUE&FilterField1=External_x0020_Facility&FilterValue1=A+%26+L+Great+Lakes+Laboratories+Inc.+Fort+Wayne+IN |

Address, City, State....... still all the same as the first Item choice......

based on the Temp Error from the second item I ran, I remember seeing this error before.......  "Parameter count mismatch for filter and value.
Please verify each parameter has the same number of comma-separated values."

I had to change my formula from

    concat("FilterOwssvr /dsname=ExternalOwssvr /filter=External_x0020_Facility /value=", .)

    to

    concat("FilterOwssvr /dsname=ExternalOwssvr /filter=External_x0020_Facility /value=", ., " /delimiter=~")  .....

this worked......  while I really don't understand why this error popped up or what it is about, i do know how to fix it.  Can you tell me why this is?

Ah hah! It is because your value had a comma in it. FilterOwssvr uses comma delimited filters and values if you want to filter on more than one item. So, you can specify another value for your delimiter that won't show up in your /value data.
