I have a basic workflow that emails a user who has an infopath form sitting in a SharePoint Form library assigned to them.
The workflow email contains a link to the form itself.
However when users click the link, it tries to open the form in the browser. And gives an error saying the form can't be opened in the browser and needs to be opened in the infopath client. Which is of course what I'm trying to do. I've made sure in the form library's advanced settings that "open in client" is checked. The form can't be opened in the browser because of some things that it's got that arern't browser compatible.
Any ideas how I can successfully get the link in the email to the form to open in infopath?
I'm using SharePoint 2010 and infopath 2007. All users have infopath 2007.
P.S. I noticed when I normal-click the form link in the SharePoint list view to open it, it opens in InfoPath like it should but when I right-click, copy the shortcut and try to paste that shortcut into a new browser window it won't open.
EDIT:
I've got it working for me.
[%Current Item:Source URL%]SITENAME/_layouts/FormServer.aspx?XmlLocation=[%Current Item:URL Path%]&DefaultItemOpen=1&ClientInstalled=true&Source=https://site.com/sites/SITENAME/FORMLIBRARYNAME/MAINVIEW.aspx&DefaultItemOpen=1
adding &DefaultItemOpen=1&ClientInstalled=true seemed to do the main trick of opening the form in InfoPath.
