Insert new row in Repeating table using a control.

    Hi,

I have a repeating table with 3 columns. third column is a drop down list with 2 options (insert above, insert below).

If user select insert above, I would like a new row to be created and insert above the current row.

So for example, if I clicked on the third row's, drop downlist's "Insert above", a new row is created which becomes the new third row, and  the old third row becomes the new fourth row. Is this possible? I am using the Infopath 2010, vsta with C#.

I know there is a dropdown function on the row where you can insert above, insert below, however this is too confusing to the average user, so I would like to implement insert above, insert below function using a drop down.

    Thanks.

Sure, this can be done with custom code. You could also use qRules for this, if you'd prefer not to write your own custom code.

If you are writing code for it, I guess you'd just use a changed event on your field bound to your drop down for this - you may want to spend some time thinking about what your anticipated behavior would be if the user wants in insert above a second time - I guess you'd set your drop down field back to blank after you run your insert....
