    Query for data

I'm having an issue with a data connection in InfoPath 2010. The issue is, because the list is huge, having the data automatically load causes the form to load slow. I have unchecked the box and tried to set a rule to query for data, but it doesn't seem to load the data. Is there a walkthrough or some guidance you can give me to delay the query to access the data connection after the form has already loaded?

    Thanks.

    which checkbox? where?

In Data connection wizard to a list there are options:

    • Store a copy of the data in the form template checkbox

When a query occurs while working with the form in Infopath, the returned data is stored locally for use in Offline Mode.

Infopath can connect to this data source and store the results in the form template for offline use. This will enable users to access the data if they are working with the form for the first time and there is no previously stored available

Offline data is accessible to all users who fill out this form. This option should not be selected if the data source contains sebsitive information

    • Enter a name for this connection:

checkbox Automatically retrieve data when the form is opened

Note: tour form will open more quickly if you delay data queries until the data is needed. To do this, create a ruleto query data when a button is clicked or when the value of a field changes
So, you should have selected the former and unchecked the latter checkbox with following rules creation

    What is the rule?
Can you attach your template with your post? It is through Options tab
