    Form submission with repeating tables

    Hi

I've created a browser compatible 'staff timesheet' in infopath 2010 where I have general/staff information at the top, i.e. Date, Staff Number, Name, etc.

At the bottom of the form I have a repeating table listing work done in relation to all the above details.

As I'm a Pivot Table fanatic I would like to data (on submission), to be submitted to a list/database (i'm open to options here), but there should be one list entry for every entry within the repeating table with the general information repeated with each list entry. So, for 3 repeating table items in one form, you would have 3 list entries with the general/staff information repeated on each (I hope you're still with me).

The question is: How do I do this? And what is the best way to achieve this? Or if there's a better way I would be interested to know.

    Hope you can help!

    Sammy.

Here's a good place to start, if you  haven't already:

You could use this, and concatenate the general information and the repeating table row value.

That looks like a solution but before I venture further into this, do you know if there could be a codeless way forward?

Visual Studio is totally new to me

As far as I know, you'll need code to do it from a repeating table. If it wasn't a repeating table, you could do it with workflows, just creating a list item and setting the field values.

The inbuilt Visual Studio for applications isn't too daunting, certainly less complex than Visual Studio proper.

Do you have any coding experience at all? If you do, just get some stuff pasted in and have a play. The code will just run when you preview the form.
