InfoPath Dev

I put this in the newbie section but no one responded.  I really need help with this so I thought I would try it here, since this seems like a better place to post it anyway.

I am fairly new to infopath 2010. So please bare with me. I have a sharepoint 2010 foundations server and I have infopath 2010. My current setup is I have an excel spreadsheet that syncs to a sharepoint list. The following info is in my sharepoint list:

Date:     RBS    JTK     WFR     TJM     Call     etc

7/24      office    ssc     office     ssc       TJM

This info is a list of doctors and where they will be for a day. I would like to build a form that will pull this info for the docs, but give them a choice to do it based on a date picker that will reference the DATE: field above and then populate text fields in a form like so:

Date: (date picker)

RBS: office

JTK: ssc

WFR: office

TJM: ssc

Call: TJM

The reason for this is I use Formotus for my infopath forms so the docs can pull the form into their Iphones. Without them trying to see the entire spreadsheet as this makes it difficult to view on their phones. I want them to just be able to pick a particular date and know where they will be along with the other doctors for any given day. I do not want to submit or change any info on the sharepoint list other than by the Excel sheet. This is only for reference.

I have the Excel sheet update the sharepoint list without problem. And I can pull info from sharepoint into an infopath form, but it is only in repeating rows. I cannot figure out how to connect a date picker (or drop down box) and have it only bring back info for that day.

Any help would be wonderful. I have been searching for days and I cannot find anything that points me in the right direction.

Hi - sorry your first question went unanswered.

When you create the data connection for your list in your InfoPath form, check the data source task pane - there should be query fields and data fields. If you set a query field to the date you want, then run the query (instead of running the query on load) you should get just the record you need. You may need to play with this a bit to get the format right for the date - just put the query field and a button that will execute the query on your form (with some data fields so you can see the result) and you'll soon see what you need. InfoPath stores dates in yyyy-MM-dd format - you may be able to bind a date picker to the query field, or you could just have a date field in your main data source with the date picker bound to that, and use form rules to set your query field and run the query when the date field changes.
