default Submit using a data connection using SharePoint Library Submit, failing

I'm supporting an existing Infopath 2007 form, which submits / updates to a SharePoint 2007 database
on a remote server, the data from that specific form.
The form in question is used by hundreds of users and the submit process must be working correctly.
I have 1 user with a problem, a normal form submit fails silently.
The user can do the submit on another PC, so the problem of permissions at Sharepoint seems to be eliminated.
All users have Contributor perrmissions, but I tried upgrading this user to Publisher permissions as a test.
The form does not show an error message, which makes it difficult to pinpoint the problem.

The submit is a normal/default Submit using a data connection with a SharePoint Library Submit.
Before the submit, inside the submit button, a command runs that successfully retrieves the
last updated record ID and adds 1, so that I can see it on the screen during the submit process.
    Max(record ID) + 1
Then the submit fails silenly and no data is updated into the remote Sharepoint database.

I have performed general maintenance on the PC to try to eliminate obvious issues.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Infopath 2007 on the PC and updated it to service pack 2.
I have brought the Microsoft .net frameworks 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5 up to the latest service packs.
    These are 2.0 sp2, 3.0 sp2, and 3.5 sp1. All users OSs are Windows XP sp3.
This PC is used every day on our company network, so it can see the network.

I have been looking through the user's Windows profile (in Documents and Settings), to see
if I could find some left over garbage like files of Infopath settings or temp files that might cause
    this error.

I have read that the default Submit using a data connection with SharePoint Library has no error
codes or logging capabilites to see what is going inside the submit function.

Any ideas on how to find an error message to pinpoint the problem or cause?

Thanks for any help and ideas
