    Conditional Formatting/Shading "underneath" Table Shading?

Am I missing something, or is this a bug or a feature in InfoPath 2007?

I have a Checkbox control as field1 in a Repeating Table.  I set Conditional Formatting for the Repeating Table so that when the checkbox is unchecked (field1 = false or 0), that row is shaded yellow.  Works great.

Then if I set shading for the repeating row (all cells in the repeating row) to, say, a light gray, I still want any unchecked rows to appear highlighted in yellow.  Does not work.  Even if I set the shading back to "None".  If I Undo the gray shading immediately, then sure, the Conditional Formatting works again, but that is not my point.

The table row shading seems to be "on top" of the Conditional Formatting, which IMHO, defeats the purpose of Conditional Formatting.  Once you shade the cells, it "poisons the well" for Conditional Formatting of those cells.  Not sure if this applies to other kinds of tables, I've only tried with Repeating Tables.

    Thanks for any insight!

Interesting find!  I played around with it and confirmed the same behavior you are seeing in 2010.  I was also trying to find a workaround for you, but alas I came up with nothing that seemed to work for me.  You should report that as a bug to Microsoft and meanwhile I'll let you know if I manage to find a solution that will work.

Thanks for reproducing, and for trying to find a workaround.  This is my first InfoPath project (I'm a general computer consultant), so I thought maybe this behavior has a purpose of which I am unaware.  But it seems wrong to me, and I was surprised to not find anything relevant via Google search - I figured someone else would've tried something similar.

My solution was to get all other aspects of the Repeating Table and fields, Drop Downs, etc. dialed in, set the background color I wanted in the table which encloses the Repeating Table, THEN insert a fresh Repeating Table, drag all my fields into position, delete the original, "damaged" Repeating Table, THEN set the Conditional Formatting for shading the repeating rows when the Checkbox is unchecked.  Knowing this limitation/bug, planning ahead will prevent the double effort in the future.

I've never reported a bug to MS, and all I can find is Microsoft Connect: http://connect.microsoft.com/directory/accepting-bugs, and it appears they are not accepting bugs for InfoPath.

    Thanks again.
