Is there a way (either programatically or not) to make the drop down date selector default to a month other than the current month? I can change the date that's there by default (1/1/2012, for example) but if the user clicks the date selector, the current month drops down. Any ideas?

It should work just the way you're describing it and it does work for me. Are you using a rule or a default value to set the initial date?  If it's a rule, you'll need to use XML date format: 2012-01-01

Great! I was building a string in mm/dd/yyyy format and it wasn't taking it as a date. Now it's all working. Thanks!
