    "Simple" issue with qRules Injector

    This past Friday (3 days ago) I installed the Qdabra software on my Windows 7 (64-bit) system in order to use the SubmitToSharepointList rule. After successfully injecting the rules into a stand-alone InfoPath 2010 form (i.e. one that did not have a "Main" connection to a SP list) and using that as a test-bed. After fumbling terribly, and then watching a few of Hilary's videos I thought I was ready to attack my main reason for attempting to use the qRules.

     I then went to my new, list-attached form and made some (relatively) minor changes and then I injected the qRules, using the qRules Injector - as I had been testing out all weekend and promptly got the following error message when attempting to Publish the form back to the server;

     The SOAP response indicates that an error occurred on the server:

    Server was unable to process request. ---> Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    Of course I was puzzled and thought I had done something wrong in my form and, after a few hours of hacking away at it until there was virtually nothing left, I went back to square one and attempted a test. I went to a "virgin" SP list and opened the form in InfoPath, made absolutely no modifications to it, and then saved the XSN to a local folder (as I had been doing with the other form). Then I injected the qRules and immediately re-opened the form in InfoPath in Design mode. Next I tried to Publish that qRules-injected - form back to the list and...got the same error.

     Did I do something wrong? Is this expected behavior? Am I beating my head against a (known) brick wall?

     Can someone help?

    Hi - when you say "list-attached" form, what do you mean? A SharePoint List form? If so, is it for an external list? Or a regular list? Regular list forms can't have code, so my assumption is qRules would not work in a SharePoint list form.

    Thanks Hilary...my for is a regular Sharepoint custom list. Guess I have to "go back to the drawing board" on this one.
