Hello!
I have a form, that is duplicated from a working form. The copy-paste routine was done by help of SharePoint Designer 2010, inside list of All Files, so I could open the duplicated form in InfoPath designer with the correct name from the beginning. The forms are opened inside browsers, not in InfoPath filler!
Reason for duplicating is that the information that the users are to input are just slightly different regarding to an internal process, but the main data is the same. The forms are both posted to the same document library (Content types are slightly different but this is not a problem, since data is correctly submitted) and a workflow is triggered when the form is submitted and lands into the library. To save work time (?) I just copy-pasted the InfoPath file, renamed it and made the necessary changes in the layout.
Problem:
The original form works as it should; when user presses Submit- button, the form closes.
The copy do submit the data, but the form stays open. The form is visible in the document library, the data is correctly submitted and the underlying workflow is correctly triggered.
Background code:
NONE. Just using rules and default values that are calculated between different fields. These are exactly the same in both forms.
No C# coding, no submit rules no extra bells or whistles.
Changes between the forms:
Layout
Mandatory values are LESS in the copy
The data fields are exactly the same
Rules of the submit button:
Right click submit button -> Button properties -> Action: Submit, Label: Submit -> Press Submit Options -> Send form data to single destination: SharePoint document library, Choose a data connection for submit , Show the submit button.... CHECKED -> Press Advanced -> After submit: Close the form
With this configuration, there is no rule when submitting that can cause the routine to go crazy.
What I've tried:
- Pressing either Submit button or Submit in ribbon, the form stays open.
- Temporarily published a version where the possibility to Submit was removed and putting it back again.
- Publishing a version with another value for "After submit:" and back again.
- Changing the submit routine to rules and leaving default values. Now changed back to just raw posting.
- Deleting the whole layout and building it back again.
- Using both InternetExplorer and Chrome. Both behave the same.
More information:
- Both forms are inside aspx- pages that are created in SharePoint Designer 2010. Both pages contain a webpart (context filter) that passes parameters from the URL into the forms. I have different aspx pages for each of the forms, but identically built.
- The Source- part of the URL is not working in either of the forms (THIS IS MINOR, BUT WOULD BE NICE IF IT DID...) and therefore I cannot use the Source- parameter to redirect the browser to the main page after Submit.
Conclusion:
It feels like that the "After submit:" property is somehow bypassed or overridden.
Is there anything else that I can try? Are there properties that I can set that I have missed? Or is the only possibility to recreate the form from scratch?
Thank you for any help!
