What is the proper way to use/publish the Contact Selector Control in a workflow?

    Hi,

    Help, please.

I am designing a browser form in InfoPath 2010 that will be published in InfoPath 2007 (MOSS SP2), and I’m confused about the proper use of the Contact Selector Control in a workflow. According to its documentation, the behavior of the control changed a lot from IP2007 to IP2010. In IP2007, you need to create an XML file in order to use properly the control. In IP2010 the control is more intuitive and the behavior is different.

    I need to know, please:

Do I need to create the XML file? Do I need to replicate the same conditions required in IP2007? After all, I’m working in IP2010 for InfoPath Services 2007.

What is the proper way to use/publish the control in order to use its value in a workflow? The value of the control is the approver of the form.

    Thanks in advanced.

The Contact Selector control is now the Person/Group Picker in InfoPath 2010.  You no longer need to create the XML file to properly use the control.  Instead the Person/Group Picker should work automatically out of the box.

However, if you are using the IP2010 designer to design a IP2007 form, you will need to use the old control since the new control is not supported in 2010.  In that case, you'll need to refer back to the documentation to setup the control correctly.
