Hi all, I have created a Infopath 2010 form using Sharepoint list Template. Users are allowed to attach files, How can i restrict the size of the attachment. By default Sharepoint allows 1.5 MB , i want to reduce it. Thanks in Advance Pallavi G.L

and welcome to our forum.  I guess there are ways with and witout code. With using code you can use the 'Validating'-event to report a validation error to the user if the file size exceeds a predefined limit. Please have a look at http://www.bizsupportonline.net/blog/2009/10/programmatically-restrict-size-attachment-infopath/ for further information and a working example.

If you want to use rules please have a look at the following thread here in this forum. Even though this thread deals with the picture control you can use the same technique for an attachment control.

I have posted the screen shot  of the infopath form .

It does not allow me to add the Validation Rule to the attachments.

And as there is no developer tab ( as it is a Sharepoint List template which i am using ).

Please sujest me any other technique to solve this problem.

That data source is kinda weird looking (though I haven't worked with SharePoint list forms).  Is that control you have highlighted in your screenshot a section with an attachment control inside it, or just an attachment control?  I'm guessing that :attachmentURL field has a string datatype, but just for the sake of argument, could you tell me what datatype it is?

I am using a Issue tracker List and a Share Point list Template Form .

The Attachment data type is Attachment Type.

I have attached the scrren shot along .
