    Customized Form

I have a bad feeling that I already know the answer to this one, but is there anyway to add Custom Code to a SharePoint (2010) Form that was customized using Infopath 2010?

Since I'm fairly certain the answer is no does anyone know another way to pass a value from one form (a Custom List Display Item Form wirtten in SP Designier 2010) to my customized InfoPath form?

     Thanks.

If I understand your question correctly: "You have a SharePoint 2010 list and you want to pass a value from the list to an InfoPath form (created in InfoPath 2010) whenever a row is clicked in the list". I'm not an InfoPath expert but I've been playing around with InfoPath and I managed to accomplish this with an External List in several steps... ASSUMPTION: I assume you know how to create your form in InfoPath 2010; add data connections, publish, etc. AND you know how to create your list so I will focus only what's needed to connect the list to the form! I) Create the InfoPath Form: 1. Create your form in Infopath (I suggest just starting with 1 or 2 fields and display the value passed from the list). 2. In your form select File->Info->Form Options and a "Form Options" display pops up... then select "Property Promotion". This is where you will tell InfoPath/SharePoint what field to pass into the form. 3. Under the bottom window (for SharePoint Web Part connection parameters), select Add and then select a field from your data source whose value you want passed into the form. 4. Select the "Parameter type" as Input since you want the value coming into the form... the other options should be self-explanatory. 5. Click until you've completely saved the form and then publish it. NOTE: You may be required to publish an Admin Approved form template because the form requires input parameters... otherwise it can be published as a sandbox. I had code in my form so I had to publish Admin Approved. II) Connecting the form... In Sharepoint, create a new web part page and then select edit to add web parts... 1. Add the list to the page by clicking on your list in whatever web part zone you desire. 2. To add the form to the page, you must add a InfoPath Form web part to the page and then configure the form to be displayed; basically, select configure and then select the form from a list presented in the web part configuration. 3. Once you've added the form, you can connect the two web parts by clicking Edit->Connect web parts on the InfoPath Form web part and select "Get Parameter From" the list web part. I hope this helps... as mentioned, I glossed over areas or creating and publishing the form as I assume that's not where you are having a problem. Let me know if you have further questions. PS: I've written this from memory so please excuse me if some of the menu text isn't exactly as I've written here; however, when you see them the options should be obvious. Cheers!
    Thanks,
    K!
