    Writing a Timer code

    Hey everyone,

I'm quite a newbie with Infopath and I hope you'll be able to help me find the most simple solution for my problem.

I have my form already done, with the 3 buttons of sending an E-mail . the first one is "problem detected", the second one is "updates" and the third one is "problem solved".

I would like to set a time-counter (with the date also) on the form that with each "updates" or "problem solved" E-mails will inform everyone in a new filed how much time passed since the 1st Email (the "problem detected" Email)

With a quick search in the forums I found this : http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/535/1254.aspx#1254

but it is still not enough .. I would appreciate if anyone could direct me , because I found only how to display the direct time.

    Thanks in advance,Ofir

    Hi Ofir,

Can you just record the current time when you click the buttons and display a calculated value (expression box in InfoPath 2007 parlance) that diffs the time? There are a bunch of techniques for calculating the difference between dates and times. Some clever xpath from Alex Pojidaev and qRules also offers a simple DateDiff calc. Not hard to do but will require a little digging. I'm guessing you can slay the dragon within an hour. Good luck with the xpath sword.

    Best,
