I have a unique need to create a concatinated link to a log file on a remote server. This link needs to be in the InfoPath MOSS form. I am doing this with .cgi files succesfully with a concatinated http:\\ hyperlink.
However I cannot get the .log extension to open in either Notepad or iExplorer. (either should l work) I have played around with the file://, http://\\file\, etc, etc, etc.
Some examples of what I have tried is:
concat("file:///",my.myfield,"/c$/WINDOWS/system32/LogFiles/W3SVC1/ex",my.myfield2, ".log")
concat("\\",my.myfield,"\www_logs\ex",my.myfield2,".log")
When I have successfully linked to the log file, IE downloads the file (not what I want), prompts me to open it and then abruptly shuts itself down.
I there a way to open (link to) a text file from an infopath form into either IE or Notepad?
