Partially blank email on submit (and no not switched views!!)

I have a custom submit button that emails my form.  My form consists of a layout table with fields.  When submitting I just email the current view (so no I don't switch views).  When I receive the email I get the table and the logo but the fields that the user has filled out do not come across so its just the table with blank gaps. Has anyone come across this before?  I tried just creating a button that emails the form only and does nothing else and this doesnt work either.  I had a bit of conditional formatting and rules so deleted all those in case they were messing with the form, but still no luck.

Are the fields being blanked bound to a secondary data connection?
Secondary dataconnection values do not get sent with the final form xml. Only Main dataconnection values. If you need secondary data connection values to be saved and sent, they need to be copied into a Main dataconnection field.

Another thing which has got me in past is if I use Rich Text or HTML format for a manually created Outlook email in script.
If a user has Microsoft Word as their Outlook editor, this seems to do weird things to certain table formatting - like it just disappears! Not sure if this is your problem though.

Thanks very much for your response.  What you have mentioned above is good to know anyway, however it turned out there was actually a problem with my outlook.  I tried the whole day to fix a problem that wasnt actually a problem, and all it needed for my outlook to fix itself was a restart... sigh.
