IP 2010 - Repeating table, hide show rows

I have been all over this site and nothing specifically addresses what I am trying to do. I have a multiple select list box "Sub_Type" and a repeating table "Products". I tried following the conditional formating MS put out, but that was based on a listbox and I could not get the same results. One reason I cannot use "=" I have to use "contains" or "not contains". In the list box the value returning is a single letter, I used what the article use (A,B,C,D). With these values I was hoping to be able to hide / show a row in my repeating table based on the value(s) selected like:

A = row 1, if checked show row one or because I have a hidden field in the row if value from Sub_Types does not contains value from repeating table, hide this control. But I am not having success.

I also looked at this post http://www.infopathdev.com/forums/p/18147/63320.aspx#63320

it came close, but again based on a single select, not multiple select.

    thanks

    Kind regards,
    Larry

Add a hidden Yes-No field to your repeating table called "ShowMe". Add a condition that checks that value. That should work for multiple rows. Just make sure you use xpath Current command to get the correct ShowMe field when you compare.

For the contains stuff, I would just have a default value on your ShowMe that changes when the Sub_Types change. Or, maybe add a second ShowMeCalculated field that gets set when the Sub_Types change.

    Hey Patrick,

This is where I am struggling a bit. If I use a hidden Yes/No field, How do I change this value based on my multiple select for the correct row(s) in my repeating table?

I have attached a demo of what I have, basically a copy of what MS posted, but replace the list with multiple select. On from open all rows are visible and they need to be hidden, then based on user selection shows all rows that correspond to user selection.

that is so close. The functionality is like right on, but seems 2 b a bit buggy. when apple and banana are selected 2 rows are added. now I have some to look at I am going to try and figure it out. Thank you so much.

That's not a bug.  There are actually two rows each for apple and banana and that's why two appear for each.

I saw that when I opened it in design,Home run! Now I want this to be a nested repeating table. The way I am trying to use this is I have a line item. User selects a line item type. This is a repeating table. Once user selects a type this repeating table displays allowing the user to enter sub items, "fruit". What I am finding is it replicates the first selected choices. Is there a way to separate each new row so they could have different "fruit" selected for each?

    Kind regards,

Could you attach a screenshot of how you want it to look?  I'm having trouble picturing what you're describing.

Here is your original file slightly modified. I placed the multiple select and repeating table into a repeating section. In the form with the default showing it works perfectly. When the user adds a new section, the selected item in the first, are displayed in all sections
