I have a repeating table inside of a repeating section.  The idea is to have a category selector in the section that set's sharepoint query field, queries the data, and copies table over using qrules. 

This all works.  However, when I add a new section, and select the category again, it populates the table in the previous section, not the current section.  Also, should all of this work in the browser?

The only way I can resolve this is to move the repeating table reference out of the repeating section.  But should't it be referencing the repeating section?

I just can't understand this. 

My structure is - /my:myFields/my:GearSection/my:Section/my:Gear/my:PullSheet where my:Section is the repeating section, and my:PullSheet is the repeating table. 

Whenever I add another section, and do a copy table, it only adds it to the table in the first section. 

I don't believe CopyTable will work in a scenario with nested repeating data. You many need to use Insert instead and a counter for copying items in. Here's a document that may help you.
