    import word-based form document

    I am brand-spanking new to InfoPath - here is the deal:

    I have many (+/- 20) MS Word-based forms to convert to InfoPath (2003 or 2010) forms for data entry.  I (think I mostly) understand the connection part. We have an existing Oracle db back-end with established tables and fields, relationships with joins etc.  However, when I import the Word-based form the +/- 25 textbox/ form controls are not bound to the data base tables and fields.

    Is there a simple/ easy way/ interface/ wizard to match the backend data to the imported form without having to select each control, right-click, choose bindings, etc., etc., etc.?

    I searched and scanned articles and posts here but have not found anything that address changing the binding for multiple controls. am I missing something?

     thanks so much in advance

     /jh

    Are you using the Convert Existing Form function in 2010?

    MicroSoft also provides a tutorial here

    thanks for the link/ reference.

    I have used the file import in 2010.  It does its magic and plunks the converted Word doc/ form in InfoPath Designer.  It is at this point I have to go through the change binding exercise for each control...

    thanks much /jh
