    Day of the year

Hello again,I am busy with a new form, this is for my own InfoPath training skill.
At work we have a excel work in progress list with hundreds of parts.
Every part has its own unique order number given by SAP.
The SAP data is then imported by excel and you see a lot of information like:
    • Time to go
    • start date
    • department codes
    • skill codes
    • given time to repair (let’s say turning and milling two hours)
    • GE reference manual
    • A day number. this is a calculation from the start date plus 24 days, including the weekends. this is our repair window finish date.

Why do we use day numbers. A few years ago we had no structure. Everyone was doing their own job as best they could do and see fit. Resulting in the fun parts where done first and the complex parts had a repair time that exceeded the repair window with more than 45 days. Not so good for the company and angry customers. After a lean session we decided to go for day numbers. So every part has its own day number. You pick up the part with the lowest number, as simple as that.

After importing this excel sheet into InfoPath I can scan or type or select the order number. Now in a repeating table you see all the excel info. Neatly in one clear view.
What I like to do in InfoPath is look at a textbox with a value of Today (). I want to recalculate this to a number of the year (today is April 10, 2011 with the corresponding day number 100)  . So I can compare this to the given day number from SAP and calculate the priority of the part. And InfoPath will give a recommendation to do some overtime, after comparing skill cover. I know that this has some Big Brother issue but I do this just to learn more about InfoPath.

What I really like to know is how to calculate the day of the year from a textbox today.

    A big thanks in advance.
