Trying to make form section drop down on the basis of checkbox selection

    Hi there,

Is it possible to create the following:

My form currently has many "sections".

Many of these sections work on the following concept:

Section 1 - there are 10 fields. Field 1 is an item number. If you have field 1, you don't need to fill out the other 9. If you don't have an item number to go in field one, you DO need to fill out the other 9.

     So the logic here is:

If the user ticks "Yes, I have an item number" then only the item number box will drop down. If the user checks "No, I don't have an item number" than those 9 fields will drop down.

The idea is just to keep the form nice and clean by condensing non relevant fields (that can be uncondensed on the basis of checkbox selections that indicate that that section becomes relevant).

    Can this be done?

    Cheers,

    Kris

    Hi Kris,

I think you just need some simple conditional formatting. Make sure the "other nine fields" are in a separate section. Then, you can control whether the section is hidden or not usign the value from field 1. Pretty easy but I'm wondering if I understand exactly what you are trying to do. Dropdowns and fields are different. Fields are separate items on the view. Dropdown will map to one of those fields.
