Sharepoint List Field (Lookup Type) not showing in Infopath

Using Infopath / Sharepoint 2007. I have a custom list on the Sharepoint portal. I have defined six fields, one of them is a lookup field that is obtaining its values from another sharepoint list. I have set up an External Data Source in Infopath, but when I bind to the fields in the list - all data appears in Infopath *except* the lookup list. No numerical values, no text, nadda. Before trying this I had this list, as well as five others, configured as Choice fields. When I had to add an additional choice, I found myself modifying six sharepoint lists. Using Lookups is a an effort to simplify administration. Am I doing something wrong? Missing something? .. or is this functionality simply not available? Thx

As far as I know that is not supported. I recommend putting the lookup values into a separate list and creating a data connection to that and binding the dropdown in your InfoPath form to that.

Yep - essentially I rolled back to the way I was doing it.   I was trying to do so in order to make things 'clearner' ...

     Thanks for the response.
