    Error on Submit

I have created a form in Infopath 2010.  It is client based NOT browser based.  When the form is submitted I get the following error...

Some rules were not applied... The form cannot be submitted because it contains validation errors. Errors are marked with either a red asterisk (required fields) or a red, dashed border (invalid values).

I have removed ALL requiared fields and validation rules.  There are none in the form, yet I still get the error when I try to submit it.

I am not sure if this has anything to do with it but at one point I configured the form to use Digital Signatures.  I desided against it and deleted the controles and rules.  While trying to figure out what was causing the error I set the Compatability of the form to Infopath 2007 Filler Form and got the following error in the Design Checker "The sign signature line rule action is not supported".

Probem is there is NO signature rule in the form.  I've used the rules inspector to double check it and  there is none.

Does anyone know what could be causing this error, is there some sort of ghost signature rule that I'm missing.

    Thanks

    Steve

In InfoPath 2007, the "Go To Next Error" command was easy to find when filling out a form and having this happen. It isn't so easy to find in IP 2010, in fact, I finally gave up and added it to the Quick Access Toolbar.

The keyboard shortcut, I believe, is Ctrl + Shift + O (that is the letter "o", not the number 0).

When you use Go To Next error, you'll get a validation error dialog that has a button that says "Show Details". If you click that, you can see a message about what field is invalid. That may help you track the issue down...

Hilary thank you very much for your responce.  That was the proper key combo and something I didn't even know I could do, so thank you twice.

I checked for errors on the form and get this...

This form contains validation errors that are not in the current view.  The form contains the following erros:   Field or group: #text    Error: No exact match was found.

But there is no other view, i created one at one time but deleted it.  and there is no field named #text.

I know this is a long shot and I very much appreciate your help, but do you have any idea what could be causing this.  The form works perfectly but for this.

Here is a link to the file...http://blindluckprod.com/temp/leave%20request.xsn

What is odd is when I open your form, I don't have that validation error. Can you attach your template to a reply so that I can take a look at the source files?

HIlary I figured out what the issue was.  The first submit button send the form to the employees manager.  The second sends it back to the employee approved or disapproved.  The error only happens after the second button is clicked.  The issue was that the people group controle in the managers section.  The section at the bottom was linked to the section at the top, the employees section.  In the employees section of the form I ask the employee to enter their managers name in a people/group control.  I then set the default value for the people/group control in the managers section to be that of the first people/group control.  So when the manager opens up the form and that control is filled out for him.  God I hope you followed that.

The issue is that there are three parts to the people/group control, the Display Name, Account Type and Account ID.  All three of which have a default value.  This control, being new to me, was not filled out properly.  I only set the default value for the Dsplay Name.  When the form was submitted the control errored out because the default value was not set for the other two parts of the control.

Without your help I would not have nerrowed it down.  Both I and my client thank you.  :)

Wonderful -- and you know, your solution then concurs with that for this MSDN forum post with the same error message.
