Submitted by in InfoPath email header

    Hi all,

I have searched the forums but cannot find an an existing post on this.

I am looking for a way to control (alter/move) the automatic [Submitted by <email address>] heading that shows up in an email which originates from an InfoPath form (submit to email).

This heading shows up in the body of the email followed by an horizontal line and then the actual view of the InfoPath form.

Does anyone know where and how this can be controlled?

    Thanks.

    Hi Todd,

I believe your issue can be solved by editing the data connection. You didn't mention if you were using IP2007 or IP 2010.

In IP 2007: go to Tools, Data Connections

In IP 2010 : go to Tools, Data Connections

in either case, there should be an existing data connection for submitting my email that you can modify. If it is showing up in the body, you probably need to edit the Introduction field.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Todd,

Are you using the browser based forms and InfoPath Forms Services? If so, you can't change that header. It's a security restriction. Check out Hagen Green and Scott Robert's book. They talk about the limitations of email when using IPFS.

    Cheers!

    Hi Patrick,

I knew I forgot something in my post (yes, that's right - browser based forms with InfoPath Forms Services).

Thanks for the answer and referring me to Scott and Hagen's book.

    Regards.
