InfoPath Email Template using Rich Text field data

I'm experiencing a problem using Rich Text field data in a workflow email template. I'll try to explain as best I can.

    - using InfoPath 2010 and SharePoint 2010

    - Created Custom list with a InfoPath form and workflow. Workflow is based of form status (new, edit, etc.) and is working fine. InfoPath form works great and look like we want it to. Form contains Date fields, drop down menus, text fields and Rich Text fields. Users want the option to add bullet points, changes text sixe and color so the Rich Fields are necessary.

    - Issue: we created an email template for each workflow action. The temple is basically a 10 x 3 table built on HTML created in SPD. Inserting fields from the InfoPatch form works fine until we use the Rich Text field data. If the Rich Text data contains line breaks, bullet points or indentions... then the email template will insert additional line breaks. I have looked at the email source code and sure enough - additional <br> is included before and after the original line breaks. If the rich Text data does not contain line breaks or indentions then the data in the template looks fine. When inserting the Rich Text field data into the email templare there are two options ("Return Field as") - As String and Plain Text. Using Plain Text elimiates the ability to formate the data with bullet points so this is not fessible. So, the only option is As String which is causing us the problem.  At the List library - each column is set to Rich Text (not Enhanced Rich text).

Its there a work-around or solution to this issue? If you need additional information, please let me know.

    Thank you,

    Troy
