How to submit attachments to DBXL and return a URL?

    Hi,

We are wondering if it is possible to submit attachments to DBXL (mapped to a varchar(max) MS SQL column and stored as base64 on IP 2007 form) and return the URL to this attachment into the form.

We heard about qRule's GetAttachmentAttribute command but are not sure if it work on a non sharepoint setup?

    Thanks,

    Zhen Yuan

    Hi Zhen,

Yes, the File Picker XTP that we provide converts the attachments into links. I'm going to ask one of our support staff to reply.

    Hello Zhen,

This is possible using the SaveToDbxl qRules command which allows you to save a file, a set of files, an image or a set of images to a DBXL DocType called QdFile. After your attachment has been submitted as a QdFile document to DAT, qRulesLink and qRulesFilename will be populated with the link and the filename to the image or attachment.

Please see the Appendix section of the qRules User Guide (included when you install qRules) for instructions on how to set this up.

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you encounter any issue.

    Thanks!
