CopyTable problems - I can't see what I am doing wrong.

    I am using version 2.3

I am wanting to copy data from a secondary data source to my main data source.

I have attached an image of the 2 data sources. The command I am using is

    CopyTable /dsnamesrc=zAdminCopyAddresses /tablesrc= /dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields /rowsrc=/dfs:zAdminCopyAddresses /tabledest= /my:myFields/my:LookupCopyToGroup /rowdest= /my:CopyPeople /empty=yes

The error I am getting is An error has occurred executing the rule. Error: The specified secondary DOM is not present.

Could you point me in the right direction please.

    Thank you

    Catharine

The error seems to indicate that the dsnameis incorrect. But it looks correct, so perhaps it's something else and the error being reported is wacky.

I also notice that the source is a repeating group with attributes and the destination is a repeating field with attributes. That seems interesting at first, however, I just tried it (see attached) and it worked!

I wonder if pasting the command added some extra spaces? Or does the command in the form have the extra spaces?

    CopyTable /dsnamesrc=zAdminCopyAddresses /tablesrc=(space)/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields /rowsrc=/dfs:zAdminCopyAddresses /tabledest=(space)/my:myFields/my:LookupCopyToGroup /rowdest=(space)/my:CopyPeople /empty=yes

I copied the dsname from the data connection name (doing modify and copying the name from the last screen.)

The command in the form did have the extra spaces - I have now edited it to read

    CopyTable /dsnamesrc=zAdminCopyAddresses /tablesrc=/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields /rowsrc=/dfs:zAdminCopyAddresses /tabledest=/my:myFields/my:LookupCopyToGroup /rowdest=/my:CopyPeople /empty=yes

I have run the command again and I now get

An error has occurred executing the rule. Failed to select the source row to copy from.

Re the data structure repeating group + fields vs repeating field + attributes.  Originally I had a repeating group - but then read one of the previous posts about CopyTable and saw that there was a potential issue with groups vs fields - so I thought I would change it and see if it made any difference.

    Can you try this?:

    CopyTable /dsnamesrc=zAdminCopyAddresses /tablesrc=/dfs:myFields/dfs:dataFields /rowsrc=dfs:zAdminCopyAddresses /tabledest=/my:myFields/my:LookupCopyToGroup /rowdest=my:CopyPeople /empty=yes

Notice the lack of a slash for the rowsrc and rowdest. Let us know if that works. Thanks!

    Hi Ernesto,

Thank you so much - that has worked. - now all I have to do is the double eval - to get the email distribution list :) !
