hi,

 i want to use the absence request template form for my wss 3 site.

i have already add a drop-down list that has a data connection with my wss 3 site, so the approver can use to approve or reject the request.

what i want to create now in this template is this (i'm going to explain my scenario):

- when the user open the infopath absence request form from the wss 3 site is has to auto fill the name, id, departmentname from the user. and also the approver's name and mail addres has to be filled automatically. the approver name must be corresponding to my user name. I have already create a list with the userid and the corresponding manager id. but from there i dont know how to apllicate this list to use for the auto fill

can i do this using infopath? is there a tutorial that explain a scenario like this?

and you dont know if this same scenario can be done in the "new item list" of the sharepoint services 3.0 site?

i have a question regarding the "Get the current user without writing code" tutorial.

the url that a have to enter in the web service details is not working for me.

do i have to use the same url for wss 3 also?

i have enter my http://servername:portnumber/_vti_bin/UserProfileService.asmx 

when i open it in a browser it gives me the sharepoint error page

and when i insert the url in infopath it gives me this error:

a string literal was expected, but no opening quote character was found.
