    How to copy attachments to sharepoint list

    Hi, I am looking for a tool that can allow me to copy attachments from an infopath form to a sharepoint list ( not a document library).

    Also is there a way that I can design my infopath form without the following restrictions :

    1. The fields need not be the same as used in the List. for example if there is a field in sharepoint list called "Name" and the infopath has to display Employee Name, i want to somehow map "Employee Name" to "Name".

    2. I do not want to display the form in a tabular format to submit to a list.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi -- I don't understand item 2, but the upcoming release of qRules (v2.3) adds enhancements to the SubmitToSharePointList command that will allow you to also submit attachments. You could test out just submitting items from InfoPath to a SharePoint list by checking out the trial of v2.2, then, if you like it, upgrade to 2.3 when it comes out to also save your attachments.

    Thanks for the reply. When is 2.3 going to be available. My client has requested this functionality and I am struggling to get it in. Can you point me to some other reference.

    By item 2, what I meant was, when we insert the fields from the data connection datasource (which contains a link to the sharepoint list) the field are inserted as a table of 2 columns and n rows where n is the total number of fields in the list view.

    Also looks like we need to always populate the Title column. Can be display the fields in a more flexible format on the form.

    Thanks

    We should have it released by then end of August. If you need an early release, just email me via the forum and we can see about getting you a copy.

    It sounds to me though, that you are using a secondary data connection in your form to get items from a SharePoint list and then wanting to submit them to another list? Can you just outline a bit more specifically what you are trying to do?

    Hello Hilary,

    If you can please do that I would really appreciate it. You are right, I have a secondary data connection that connects the infopath form to the sharepoint list, where I want to save the data at. I have a CAML with the the following structure :

     <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <Batch OnError="Continue">
        <Method ID="1" Cmd="New">
     <Field Name="Title"></Field>
     <Field Name="Name"></Field>
            <Field Name="Department"></Field>
        </Method>
    </Batch>

    Now when this datasource is inserted onto the forms it is inserted as a fixed table.
