Trying to understand Trusts and Certificates

This is slightly taken from a newbie perspective:

So, basically I have a control (button) that has a couple of rules.  Rule 1: Data Connection to query a SP library.  Rule 2: submit the form.  (There are more rules in between, but these are the relevant ones).

First it queries a SharePoint library (which is obviously outside of my Infopath Form) with a Data connection, I get this error:  "Infopath cannot connect to the data source."  After doing some research I decide that I need to modify the trusts by going to Tools>Form Options>Security and Trust, uncheck the box for 'Automatically determine security level', and since I'm using a test environment that's not part of a domain, I select "Full Trust" instead of "Domain."  Now I can't submit the form because the submit rule gets this error: "The form cannot be submitted to the following location: (Submit URL) You are not authorized to perform the current operation."

After doing some more research it looks like when I use full trust I have to get into certificates.  So I have many questions about trusts and infopath:

    1. If I were a part of a domain, should the use of the "Domain" trust mode enable me to submit the form without the use of certificates?

    2. Does this mean that unless I'm on a domain and using "Domain" trust mode, I cannot have connections receiving or submitting data to any source outside of the infopath form without going into full trust/certificates?

    3. When using full trust, it appears that I absolutely HAVE to either "digitally sign" the form, or do the .msi installable package route.  the .msi is out of the question for me because this is supposed to be published to a SharePoint library, so I need help understanding how to accomplish the digital signiture.  I tried the "sign this digital form" checkbox, then clicked the "create certificate" button, but when I click view certificate it tells me "the CA root certificate is not trusted.  To enable trust, install this certificate in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities Store."  So I suppose my question is: How do I install my certificate to the trusted root certification authorities store?
