    Error when following tutorial

    Hello,

I've been looking for a solution to a particular problem that I will describe in a minute. I was intrigued by the tutorial "Use the SharePoint '[Me]' Filter with a Promoted Property" http://www.infopathdev.com/howto/tutorials/default.aspx?i=371d344d003946268efdd6b03fcbb6b4) and thought it might go a long ways towards helping me solve my problem. However, I get an error each time I try to select a user from the new "Assigned To" dropdown:

"An error occurred in the form's code. The number of calls to the OnAfterChange event for a single update in the data exceeded the maximum limit."

Now, I didn't follow the tutorial exactly - the only difference was I started with an existing form (with a bunch of fields) instead of starting from scratch. I'm a bit stumped by the error - can anyone help?

Here's the problem I'm really trying to solve, though. I have a SharePoint site where users enter in events with an InfoPath form. I want extra views of the form to be available to one superuser from each state, one of which being "See events from your own state". The tutorial above describes how to add an "Assigned To" field to an InfoPath form, with the ultimate goal of creating a view back on SharePoint to see only your assigned items. I was hoping I could adapt it so that when a user selects "Massachusetts", say, as the state, the "Assigned To" dropdown would automatically select the user "Massachusetts".

I'm relatively new to InfoPath, so is this even possible? Is there an easier way to solve this problem?

Thanks for any help you can give me!
    Anna

    Re: Error when following tutorial

Take a look at your OnAfterChange event handler... it sounds like you are getting yourself into an 'endless loop'. This would occur when your handler sets a value which ultimately causes your handler to get called again--thus the loop and the error message you are seeing.
