    zero padding

I'm trying to do a math problem where I need to preserve the zero padding in the answer but IP keeps removing my zero padding. For example, I want 001244 + 2=001246 but IP gives me 001244 + 2=1246.

    thanks

IP removes the zero padding for the data types “whole number (integer)” and “Decimal (double)” .To avoid this you need to select the data type for that particular field as “Text (String)”

    Hope this helps.

    Hello,

This doesnt work when there are formulas or Functions on the Text field even though the data type is Selected as String.

I'm pulling the numbers from text fields then applying an eqaution in another text field with those numbers.

I agree with Abhishek here, this could probably be done with XPath, but it's going to take 5x the amount of time to figure it out than just using code. If code is not an option, you could, of course, concoct some crazy XSL+XPath to do this.
