    No Submit Default From Button..

Fairly new to InfoPath, about 3 weeks.

When I add a button to the form, and select Action/Submit the default DataBase is not availiable. I am using Access 2003 as my back end. I can not seem to submit back to the DB if I make any changes, I can't get the submit functionally to show up on the tool bar.

    Hello JaySwan,
One question that I have for you is - are you trying to just retrieve data or to both retrieve and submit data to the DB. If you are trying to just retrieve data from the DB you can create a new data connection using Tools -> Data connections to the specific Access DB. To show this data in a section format, drag drop the Controls task pane and then bind it to the secondary data connection just created.

If on the other hand you are trying to both retrieve and submit data, then you would have to create an InfoPath form which has the Access connection as the main Data connection. To do this please follow the steps below
    1. In Design a Form task pane, click on New from Data connection
    2. Create a data connection to the specific Access DB in the data connection wizard that comes up. In the last window of the data connection wizard you will be told if Submit is allowed or not to this specific table in the database.
    3. This will create some default UI to be able to insert.
    4. Submit is allowed based on text shown in the last window in the wizard - you will be able to enable submission of forms using Tools -> Submitting forms. This will allow you to update existing data in the database.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks, that is the problem. The Access DB while it has relationships that identify unique records, there is not one field that identifies each record and it looks like because of that InfoPath is not letting me use the connection to write back, even though the UI looks the same as a form that would allow me to write back. Any ideas on how to get around this, With Access I can only seem to ID a single PrimaryKey, which will not work for me.
The Access DB we are useing is a local (Smaller) version of a TeraData enviornment we use for the web applicaiton. We are looking to have users review/add data locally and are trying to get Access and InfoPath working together to accomplish this.
    Any direction would be appriciated.
