Displaying List items in an InfoPath 2007 form

I am creating an InfoPath form that i want my users to open to display current information contained in a SharePoint list. I can add the two fields (Name, Telephone Number) from the data source to a repeating table, and when i open the form all the data is displayed in a list that spans more than one page. What i would like to do is instead of the list displaying in one column on multiple pages, i would like to have it display on the same page.

     Like this:

    1. Name, Number              6. Name, Number

    2. Name, Number              7. Name, Number

    3. Name, Number              8. Name, Number

    4. Name, Number              9. Name, Number

    5. Name, Number             10. Name, Number

Instead of one list spanning multiple pages. Is this possible? Does anyone have any suggestions?

    I am using InfoPath 2007, MOSS 2007, WSS 3.0

    Thank you for any advice.

    Hello Maxnimrod,

... and welcome to our forum!

Basically what you need is a "Horizontal repeating table" to accomplish this task. But you have to consider that you can“t use this control in a browser-compatible form as it is only supported in Infopath client forms.

If you need to use this in a browser-compatible form I would like to recommend the following link. There you will find a discussion about possible alternative solutions and a sample from Hilary which demonstrate such an alternative way.

    Hope that helps,

Thank you for the reply Karsten.I was looking at the horizontal repeating table, and i am not sure that this will be a solution for my requirement.I am trying to create a dynamic telephone list for our office. Basically i want them to open a custom InfoPath form that will display the employee and their phone number with out any interaction from the user.Using a receive data connection to the "employees' SharePoint list, i can make this list display vertically on multiple pages, but i would like it to stop at the bottom of the page and continue to the right of the first list on the same page. In other words, continue the repeating table beside the first one. Since there is only two fields (Employee Name and Phone number) there is enough room on one page to display the entire list. I am trying to find  way to accomplish this because i want to give the user the ability of printing the list if they need to, but i also want it to be up to date whenever our HR department adds/or removes employees.I hope that makes sense. I tried this with the horizontal repeating table, and section and cannot get the data to display the way i want it to and it seems to be designed for user interaction.Maybe this isn't possible, but i thought there would be a way even if i could combine the pages together so they display in one view on one page.I do have some programming tools and knowledge, but not enough to write this entire process myself. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you may have.

    Jeff
