    in conditional formatting while disabling the radio buttons/dropdowns.. you can just change the font color and shading associated fields also..

     You can place the radio buttons in small Section controls, and apply conditional formatting to change their background color.

    Re: Change background color for radiobuttons and dropdowns when disabled.Infopath 2007

    Hi Jimmy,

    Thanks for the reply.I tried it.It is working.But the problem is,i have the infopath form which i need to change is already live.ie;I already published that form to a sharepoint doc library and users were using that.Few forms were also created in sharepoint using that template.Now,when i change the infopath form with Option buttons in a section, and update the template into sharepoint ,i am lossing data for existing old forms that were created using old template.

    Do u know any fix  for this.

    Thanks,

    Aditya.

     It sounds like you changed the data source when you added the new section.  Instead of that, you should bind the section control to a node already in the data source (you can bind it to the same node as the radio button).

     I did the same.Deleted options buttons which were already there,then binded new option button to the same datasource.

     That's strange then.  Can you describe the type of data loss you're experiencing?

    Re: Change background color for radiobuttons and dropdowns when disabled.Infopath 2007

     I have 3 option buttons groped to a datasource  called "Publisher".

    3 Options say A,B,C

    When A is selected i am saving into in database for Publisher column "A".Doing the same thing for other buttons too.If B seleceted saving "B" into the db.....

    Now in the new form when i created 3 Optional sections (Selected include the section by default) and placed each radio button in each section.Then,i have deleted the existing radio-buttons and binded the datasource for each radio button in optional section to "Publisher".

    Now i updated the form tamplate of doc library in sharepoint by using infopath form's Publish feature.

    When i opened the new form from sharepoint doc library,it was fine.But,when i opened existing form it didn't showed me any radiobuttons and instead just showed me a link "Click here to insert" also link is not working.ie;when i click on it nothing is happening.

    If u didn't understand anything please let me.I will try to be more brief.

    Thanks.

    Re: Change background color for radiobuttons and dropdowns when disabled.Infopath 2007

     Hi,You are right,may be the problem was how they were binded.Because Xpath will change if i use more optional sections.

     This is the hierarchy of datasource:

    -> CRF

    -->Publisher Selection

    ---->Publisher

    -->OptGroup1

    ---->Field1

    -->OptGroup2

    ---->Field2

    -->OptGroup3

    ---->Field3

    I am changing the Publisher Section.

    As i have 3 Optional groups,i couldn't bind all the 3 groups to "Publisher selection" , even though I binded the 3 optional buttons to "Publisher"  which is under "Publisher Selection"

    I hope u understand.Please through any ideas.

    Thanks,

    Aditya.
