Hi,

I ran into the need for additional functions, not available through the built-in formulas. Two recent examples:

1. Square root

2. Date functions that calculate age from birthdate (would love to say something like "years(today()- DOB)", where DOB is a field user fill date-of-birth...

Yes, I know I can write code (I saw the age() code example), but why is the built-in set of functions so much smaller then, say, Excel? Any suggestions? Thanks,

Hi Shaul,
Excel is a 20 year-old product that has shipped ~10 versions. InfoPath has shipped 2 versions. In addition, InfoPath is not a spreadsheet, it is a forms product, so providing all of these functions is not really a huge benefit since most forms writers don't need them and those that do can just write code ... :)
