Hi all, I have followed this blog here http://blogs.msdn.com/infopath/archive/2007/02/28/using-the-contact-selector-control.aspx and have managed to get the contact selector working perfectly in all of my browser enabled forms. However, I have a form that is not browser enabled and I would like to use the contact selector but for some reason it does not work. I click the 'check names' button and nothing comes up. If I search I get a 'search failed' error.

I'm wondering, does that contact selector work in the client and if so, what could I be doing wrong?

Is this one of the working browser forms that you are viewing in the client, or did you make a new form that is for rich client only, and it is not working?

It definitely works in both.  I would guess that if this is a new form, then you probably just got the syntax wrong on the Contact Selector nodes.  They can be very finicky.

As a test,  you can go to an existing browser-based form in one of your other libraries and open it in InfoPath (down arrow, edit in Infopath) to ensure the Contact Selectors work for you in the client.

I am testing with a form that is working in the browser but won't work in the client. It is happening with all of my InfoPath forms. The contact selector works in the browser but not in the client....

Baffling - that hasn't happened to me before.

I'm running into an identical issue with someone I work with.  Her issue just recently started - I had thought it was related to Visual Studio 2005 being installed (and we haven't yet ruled that out). 

Oddly enough, she can Run As... and it works just fine within the InfoPath client (as well as browser, as expected).
