    Data Connections

    Hi There

I am new to infopath and would like some basic information.  I want to create an infopath form which has a drop down box which is connected to a database table.  When I do the data connection all works well for me.

But When another user opens the the form he gets a dialog box

Please enter MS Jet OLE DB information - username is ADMIN password is blank and DB_Mode_READWRITE

If I click ok and click on show details I get the following

    Form template: file:///servername\\test_folder\info_qa\QA%20Form2010Test.xsn

The following DataObject either cannot be created or cannot be initialized: Dealer_Information

The query cannot be run for the following DataObject: Dealer_Information

InfoPath cannot run the specified query.

InfoPath cannot connect to the data source.

The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '\\servername\Process_Data\Key_Data\Key_Data.mdb'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.

Does this mean all users require readwrite access to the database.

Please note that the form is only recieving data not submitting to the database.  I would like it so that they do not get readwrite access to the database.

The folder permissions are set to read only.

    Many thanks

    Mick

If u want to fetch info from database i mean receive info to some of the fields u need to give readwrite  permissions to all the users who can access the form.

There is no alternative approach as i thik.
