Changing the date format in an expression box

    Hello

I am trying to include a date field in a sentnece in an expression box.  The problem is that when the expression box shows the date, it appears in YYYY-MM-DD format.  I would like it to appear in 05 February 2010 format instead. Is there any way to do this?

I am hoping that there is a function like:  format-number((FIELDNAMEHERE), "£#,##0") to do this, as I need to have the date in the middle of a sentence.

    Thanks

    Darryl

I don't know of any function that's available for doing this (InfoPath has a built-in function called xdFormatting:formatString(), but it doesn't seem to be directly accessible in expression boxes.

However, you can accomplish this with some substring() functions and a secondary XML data source.  Have a look at the attached XSN.

Absolutely ingenious!  Thanks Jimmy. That will work perfectly.
