I have a request form that I have setup to route along an approval chain through email data connections (based on approvals, goes from one to next to last).  After fully approved, it is submitted back to the Sharepoint form library.  What I'm trying to do is to limit the ability of one of the approvers who receive the form through email from submitting their decision a second time.  Is there a way to prevent this?

It seems that the form is received in a certain state for person X, and any changes to the data are included when submitted and emailed to the next person (person Y) but do not save, meaning when person X re-opens the form from their inbox after already submitting it looks the same as when they first received it and can submit it all over again the same.

Any thoughts on preventing this?  Thanks.

hi,

you can restrict the users from submitting the form again,

create a field submitted_by in your template, also promote this field.

each time anybody submit just concat his username to this field.

create a (recieve) data connection to the data library that will retrieve this promoted field for current form.

on the submit button have conditional formatting

if retrieved_field contain userName() 

hide submit button
