I have a form that submits data through email using the submit button "rule/action/submit through data connection" function. In my workflow the form goes from the requestor to the approving manager and than to our service centre. For the approving manager it should be mandatory to use his digital signature to sign the form before it is submitted through his email account to our service centre.

Does anybody know a way how this can be easily done?

It would be best to convert the email submit from a rule to code, then you can force the signature dialog to appear if the sig is not already added. When the dialog is closed, you can check whether a new sig was added by checking for changes to the sig count. If one was added, then submit the email, otherwise present an error dialog.
