Using Outlook's Task Features with Infopath forms

I'm new to Infopath's capabilities. My company would like to use the features of Outlook task with Infopath forms. We need to move a form from a sales persons to operations for approvals, equipment ordering, delivery scheduling and IT installation. Can the form be passed from Outlook just as you would a email. Can the form be routed. Any help before an extensive use of time would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi

a form could be mailed from user to user (with a status flag being set or similar) but if you are looking for real workflow capabilities, i would consider integrating InfoPath with BizTalk workflow engine.

check out this link on the subject

Thanks for the info. I haven't looked at the Biz Talk server product yet. We are trying to stop the workflow bleeding, in your option would Biz talk be a short turnaround on delivery to the work place? We are not looking for a complex solution now but setting up a platform that we could expand on would be helpful. Would SharePoint offer workflow capablitiy with ease of set up?

Re: Using Outlook's Task Features with Infopath forms

BizTalk workflow engine is fine but another powerful workflow application out there called K2 Workflow -http://www.k2workflow.com/. It has out of the box integration with InfoPath, ASP.NET, WinForms, SharePoint, BizTalk, CMS, etc. I have done a lot of work with it. It has tended to be a bit easier to work with that BizTalk's current workflow framework.

Using K2, SharePoint and BizTalk you can build a complete framework and rapidly reduce development times. This coupled with InfoPath RAD development, you can created end-to-end solutions in a couple weeks. I have talked about it a couple times on this forum. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding K2.
