    SaveToSharePoint HowTo

    Hello,

I’m trying to follow the how to on SaveToSharePoint that Mel did with no luck. I am getting the following error:

An unexpected error occurred executing the rule. Action: SaveToSharePoint
     Arguments: System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2[System.String,System.String]
Details: Invalid character in a Base-64 string.
    Stack:   at System.Convert.FromBase64String(String s)
       at Qdabra.Tools.RulesLibrary.Commands.GetBase64Values(String& base64Value, String& fileName, String& fileExtension, Int32& fileSize, Byte[]& file)
       at Qdabra.Tools.RulesLibrary.Commands.SaveFileToSharepoint(String& base64Value, String& url)
at Qdabra.Tools.RulesLibrary.Commands.SaveToSharePoint(String url, String domName, String nodeXPath)
       at Qdabra.Tools.RulesLibrary.Commands.SaveToSharePoint()
at Qdabra.Tools.RulesLibrary.Commands.ExecuteCommand(Application application, XmlFormHostItem formHost, XPathNavigator commandsNavigator)

Here is what I have for the xpath and I have attached the form im trying to get working.

      SaveToSharePoint /url=http://mysite.mydomain.com/site/library /xpath=/my:myFields/my:Image

Out of curiosity, (and probably un-related to the problem above), on my laptop I receive the following error. ( i am logged on with the same user account and verified that I have read/write/admin privileges and can access the site via the browser.)

An error has occurred executing the rule. Error: Cannot access URL 'http://mysite.mydomain.com/site/library'

I get this error on my laptop when trying to use the infopath to sharepoint list tool as well. I have checked and compared browser security settings, host files, dns, firewalls, SP site permissions etc... with no luck.    Thanks, Steve

    Hi Steve,

Is the first error happening with any and all attachments? I haven't seen the error ("Invalid character in a Base-64 string") before, so I want to first rule out the possibility that it may be dependent on a specific attachment.

For the second error, how did you launch the form when you get the error? There are two possibilities: (1) You preview the form from your machine. This, in my experience, leads to permission errors. (2) You publish the form out to Sharepoint and open it from there.

Can you post a separate question (under Tools) for the InfoPath to Sharepoint List tool? I can't promise a quick reply for that, but it'll at least get on our radars. Thanks.

I have only tried to upload .jpg's and .gif's and get the same error on both. actually, I really need to make this work for .pdf's but I thought this would be a good place to start.

Regarding the separate support question, I sent a support email via your contact form on qdabra.com. Please let me know if you still need me to make a post on the forum as well.

    Hi Steve,

I checked your XSN and saw that your /url parameter is indeed set to http://<mysite.mydomain.com>/Documents/forms. Is there an existing library in your SharePoint site named 'forms'?

    Thanks,

yes there is. I have confirmed that I can acess that from my browser and that i can write to it. Im an admin so that wont be an issue. I have also tried this with several other document librarys.

I changed the Picture control to a file attachment control and was able to get this to work. I used the same form and the same path, just changed that control. This will work for what I’m trying to do now, but it would be nice to figure out why the picture control failed as this will come up in another project.
