infopath textbox problem with carriage return html

I have a browser enabled infopath form. The users fill in the form on sharepoint 2007 and on the submit I send an email (html) to the administrator using the data entered by the user. My problem is that on the email everything that is entered in the multiline text box is displayed in one line. It is as if there is no carriage return character.I had a similar problem with special characters but that i have fixed by converting the characters to ASCII.This does not seem to work for the carriage return. Any ideas will be appreciated Thanks Santie
